Gosia Wlodarczak is a Polish artist from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznan, whose work has been a success since the beginning of her early career in 1984. Specialized in drawing, and with the extraordinary ability to adapt her drawings into installations, performances and video, she has participated in an enormous number of solo and group exhibitions, being most of them in Australia, where she currently lives since 1996. Gosia is a creative artist who explores the essence of conventional drawing, through her work, in order to create brilliant drawing-performance pieces. She archives the phenomenon of existence with a concrete set of lines. Drawing has always been the rasion d’être of her brilliant creative development as an artist. The simplicity of a line builds extraordinary compositions that invade exhibition spaces. These drawings are created with a silver paint pen. As the artist mentions, drawing is the basis of my whole practice, extending towards performance, interactive situations, installations, sound and film; I refer to it as cross-disciplinary drawing. The artist is currently exhibiting her work in three different cities in Australia: Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. These exhibitions show how her work goes far beyond traditional drawing and pushes her ideas to the limit, creating spectacular on-site illustrations. Beyond Arting truly supports this fascinating artist, and we hope you like it as well. Have a lovely weekend!
